Wow someones smart.
I wanted the link to see what it was. I did realise it was a group buy.
Thanks for saying what it was but you don't needa be a smartass about it.
If you don't know what it does then i'd say you don't need one.
Basically it can read fault codes out of the car, it can also perform alot of other adjustments to the car and read alot of car data.
The listing is to buy them individually, this thread is for a group buy so the listing is insignificant.

... even tho the listing has ended you can still read the description so why did you want a new link? and the title of the thread is OP COM Group buy
these are pretty useful, I ran mine with the laptop on an extended drive and learnt quite a bit about the car
Some people need to read....thread title is group buy for op com. Steve has gone to the effort to organise this, if you don't know what it does then do a little research and come back with a decent post.

Opcom only works with it's own dedicated software at the moment. This is because it is a combined switcher/multiplexer unit, to allow it to change protocols and pins in the OBD connector to interrogate different cars.
Incidentally, this is also why it can cover cars from 92 to current date, it has the ability to change protocols to the one required to talk to your car. If you have the 10 to 16 pin adaptor lead, as I do, then as long as the relevant ECUs on the older cars have a data pin back to the OBD port, it will be selectable and possible to test or reset the relevant ECU of faults if the car supports this.
I'm sorry the auction isn't currently listed, we ran out again! There is more coming in this week though, so I have been promised.

If someone wants to start another separate Opcom compatibility thread, for further information, then you could put in a list for your own car ie,
Astra G 2002
Z20LET engine
Manual box
Options ABS with ESP, cruise control, electric windows, aircon, CDR500 CD player, Multi info display
(That would be my own car, then I can quote a reply as below)
Engine (ECU and cooling control)
Chassis (Cruise, ABS and ESP ECU)
Electrics (windows, central locking, aircon, CD player, multidisplay)
That would be basically everything on the car that the Opcom has listed to test and check. I am here as a fellow enthusiast, so don't feel like you need to be offering to buy from us if you want information. I'll be honest and say that if anyone else in Aus had asked for a Group Buy, I would have to consider it carefully , but as Steve said it was for a forum that I am also a member, it's a no-brainer to help you guys out if I can

guys just keep in mind that what your buying is a "copy" and not the official product.
so software udpates may and may not work and will most likely be out of date.
the official maker of opcom is this mob http://www.op-com.hu/Default_EN.aspx
but for general purposes id buy the cheapest one you can find, because they all will be copies (unless official. and the official supplier in the uk is ilexa i think)
Make me a sandwich.
