all they use is a 2.5" laptop hard drive
changing em over is a piece of piss, and its still covered under sony's warranty
we do it at work
a 500GB is going for about the $120 mark from umart, give it a coupla months and i reckon they will be under $100

honestly i wouldnt bother with a group buy mate.
the small amount saved would be chewed up by postage out to everyone
