I've kinda been rocking the same rig for the last 4 years or so, which isn't like me usually.
Core i7-920 CPU (have OC'd to 4.0GHz stable, but run it stock in the sake of saving on power, lol)
Big a$$ Noctua CPU Cooler (forget the model number now)
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard
6GB DDR3-1600 Kingston RAM
2 x 1GB Sapphire HD4890 video cards
1.8TB worth of HDD (All WD, 1TB, 500GB, 320GB)
Antec 1200W PSU
Thermaltake V5 case
BenQ G2450HD 24" + Dell 19" screens
Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard + X8 Sidewinder mouse

I use the same CPU, motherboard, RAM and CPU cooler. However, since got the rig together I upgraded graphics to 7950 and the HDDs to a pair of 256GB SSDs. There's not much this beast can't do :-) Not bad for a 3 years old rig.
Screens wise I got a 27" Dell IPS 2560X1600 and a 24" Acer 1080p.

32GB of Kingston DDR3-1600 RAM (8GB x 4)
3GB Sapphire AMD R9-280X Dual-X OC video card
256GB Samsung 840 PRO SSD
2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA3 HDD
1TB WD Green SATA2 HDD
Pioneer DVR216 DVD burner
Antec 1000W TruePowerQuad PSU
Thermaltake V5 case fitted with Noctua S12 fans front and side
Dual BenQ G2420HD 24" monitors

SSD best bang for buck computer mod. My laptop performance increased dramatically after switching to one
Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
This. The SSD probably has to be the single biggest speed improvement in computing in the last six or seven years, upon one of the biggest bottlenecks in the average system. Worth every cent. @Shadow110, think of it as the equivalent of fitting the M-Tech shifter and Whiteline rear sway bar to your SRi. That's how good SSDs are.

SSDs are fantastic - great for processing/exporting video. They're dropping in price too. Buy an entry spec Macbook Air and you get an SSD for free (inside the machine ).
