    well if you looked over the a/c system you'd see that the pump runs of the motor. hence when turned on its going to place a load on the engine...

    even my gf knows to turn off the aircon if she wants to attempt a hill in her getz, and she has no car knowledge whatsoever, which is why i wasnt sure if you were serious.

    I had an 86 starlet turbo with ac, it was pretty much un-driveable with it turned on! At idle it would just stall, and you didnt go anywhere quickly if you turned it on while driving! Other then that, great car!

    i have the best air conditioning in the astra. just wind down the windows and the faster i drive, the more ac i get. ive had the car for over a year now and have only used the ac for cold and hot 5 or so times. dad uses it all the time though
    you can live in a car but cant race a house

    Even if you don't like a/c make sure you turn if on at least 5 mins per week.

    This will ensure your a/c system stays in good shape, as the a/c gases also contains lubricants.

    currently dad drives my car alot since he hasnt got a car and he always uses the aircon. it gets used a fair bit but im not a fan of it especially aat night cause it makes me want to sleep
