I have a SB combo that I have fitted a GSI engine and gear. The 1.4L was changed at 385k, for the barn find 94 GSI barina. Has the C16XE, dash, seats, carpet and the better 14" wheels with frount disks..
Much better drive now.
Look out 2L VW's

Hi and welcome.
The SB Combo is sluggish as with that turd of 1.4 in it. I also have one as a side project, which happens to have the Z18XE in it. Check out the thread here (which needs updating I think) and also on Facebook at The Combo Project. Even had evil thoughts of how to boost the Z18XE too, hahaha.
Seeing as you've already fitted the GSi running gear, it's actually very easy to drop the Z18XE in too. I have a conversion guide around here somewhere for how to do it on the GSi.
