Been back my astra 05 CD into shape
fixed major oil leak
new front end from hitting a roo insurance job
fitted color coded eyebrows
Lester Front extention skirt installed
inner CV boot
Rack ends & tie rods
Painted engine cover
18 inch pentas with new opel badges
Got rear MAttig bumper skirt boot spoiler and RDX side skirts still to put on
it will be a very unique Astra CD when ive done with it !
Got car back with keys unsynched so as a result had to lock the car with the key. Fyi if your locking the car by key in an ah it turns out it only locks the drivers door. Not the passenger nor the boot. Handy! So had the keys synched today with tech 2 and all is well again but passenger side still wouldn't lock. So drove around race car spec for some of the afternoon to get a New locking mechanism as the one that was on somehow managed to have the connecter snap off.
Which I couldn't work out as the door card hadn't been removed and the plastic cover inside the door was original and stuck down correctly.
Anyway New door lock in and all is working again

Today after work I started pulling out excess stereo wires and made up a temporary center console until I have time to make a better one!

Raisin, are you going to cut the gauges in to replace the factory display? I'm always looking at it wondering what would fit in there nicely..... these are a neat idea if running factory ECU and BCM http://veramon.czweb.org/en_pp_astra_g_mid.html
There's got to be a way to get some gauges in there neatly though hmmm....

I haven't quite figured out yet what the end mounting will look like as this is going to be the stripped out track car anyway. But for now I just used a spare console I had in the garage and bought a $9 dual gauge bracket from Autobarn, threw a couple of riv-nuts into it, drilled some holes through the console and screwed it in. Not the cleanest way to mount, but it's just serving a purpose for me to be able to check that the tune isn't running dangerously. Initially I did want to just get a flat plate, cut some holes in it and mount it back in the console to replace the MFD, but the 52mm gauges are too tall so I would have had to cut quite a bit to make them fit.
I actually have one of those Veramon ones in my other SRiT! They are a really nice unit and far nicer than the factory display, but they are also a bit limited. IIRC it required additional sensors to be able to give some of the extra temperature readings. It does do a better job of displaying standard data though, you have more lines on the screen so you can display time, external temperature, range, average fuel consumption, instant fuel consumption and the battery voltage all at the same time.
