That's a pretty good price for those tyres. Be interesting to see how they perform.
Just got 4 new tyres. The 40 profile prices were making me sad so I thought I'd look at 45. I ended up getting the new potenza re003 for $140 each after the $100 cashback.
The extra bit of sidewall really helps fill the guards.
It will be good to take it for a drive and see how they go, all the reviews online seem to just be from the same cookie cutter bridgestone sponsored event.

What makes it illegal?
Would be due to emissions standards at a guess. An aftermarket ecu allows you to change and modify those emissions.

Yep. Programmable ECU is illegal even if it has a tune that passes emission testing basis being able to be altered

Unless you're VW you just run multiple tunes on a standard car.........

Read the news? VW may be in very big trouble, to the tune of $7.5b.
The ecu is the cars runs x tune during normal use. When the car is hooked up to emissions testing equipment it uses m tune, which allows it to pass these tests.
