Hi everyone just joint the forum. I've owned a 95 SB Barina Swing for about 3 years now, you know the one mighty 1.4 litre asthmatic single point injection that wouldn't pull the skin off a rice puddling. Well during the recent wet period the mighty Barina turned into a swimming pool. So it's now in the process of a full rebuild. Rust cut out, removing the roof moulds as this was were most of the rust was hiding. Total repaint( the lovely faded red) and new 1.6 litre single overhead cam multi point injected engine. So I will have a few question that need answering regarding the transplant.
    Regards Curly

Welcome to OA. 1.6 SOHC would be a nice swap, but the 1.8 twin cam Z18XE swap would be better. I know this as I did this swap on my old GSi. Was fun whilst it lasted, until I found a significant amount of rust around the brake booster/master cylinder area. Anyway, I am more than willing to help out with any questions in regards to which ever swap you go for. Oh, and if you think that 1.4 is powerful, my old man had the 1.2 that made snails look fast.

Thanks for the warm welcome all.
Chris went with the c16se for the ease of transplant. No messing around with different T/B and chasing down GSI computer etc.
Will be doing a little work on the c16 mild port job, decent extractors and 2 1/2" system, cold air intake and dyno tune should be more than enough grunt for the shopping trolley.
Quick update after three weeks of stripping both inside of car and paint. Cutting out and repairing rust it went in the booth today.
It's one very bright RED car.
