same as mine, the gearstick has been knurled so it stays on by pure grip. Just twist and pull. (in most cases)
Everyone says it should be hard to remove. But I got a small towel and pulled it straight up and it came off first go. Kinda scary really when people talked of hot water and hair dryers as well as multigrips. I mean it didnt just drop off but I expected it to be a lot tougher. I didnt have to use any tools and the first thing I saw after removing it was the keyed shaft. I would have done a how-to for it but the digital camera isnt here.Did you have fun removing the original gear nob?
How did you remove it?
Ben
