What about putting in a router? Will give you more wifi in the house as well.
I want to connect two PCs at one ethernet wall port. I have a hub elsewhere.
From what I understand, you can't simply split the cable from the wall and be able to use two PCs at the same time.
However, you can hook up 2 network ports into one wall port/cable, then split the one wall port/cable back into two separate ports???
Correct?
If so, will this 99.99% work? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Pair-Cat5...item27b4a17e1e

Just use a router, that way you at least know it will work
I already have a router and hub... I don't want to run another router/switch
Plus, I don't want more power supplies and boxes there.

They are hit and miss, not guaranteed to work tbh.
If you use one at both ends it will work.
Doing something similar at work as I don't want to run anymore cables and IT won't let us run hubs.
I use these...
I can get them for $4.80 each including GST
If they work as well as you say Dave I might have to get some.
Saves running double lengths of cat5
Perfect... I just wanted to know that they work..
Who is your supplier Dave?
