Sony Bravia LED LCD. I went through Knox and JB looking at all the tv's, the bravia had the best picture by far, for a good price too, think the 42" was only $950
So got some money from parents and in laws to get a new tv because they feel sorry for me that I'm still living in the 20th century with this
Which is a great tv but it doesn't handle digital all that well and the picture gets cropped pretty badly on some stations.
So what tv does everyone recommend for about 1500?

Does that have LED ambient lighting behind the monitor?
My preference has always been plasmas.

If you want an LED http://m.dicksmith.com.au/product/GE...-tv-kdl55ex720
You'll prob be able to find a 58inch panasonic plasma for around $1,500 on boxing day.
Make sure when you test the picture. you watch DTV and also a non cartoon DVD.

Hmmmm. Will have to try and go look at a few the next couple of days. I don't think I want to go over about 50 inch as I don't want it to dominate the room, we're also going to have to buy a unit for it to sit on.
Next choice is plasma or lcd/led, I know the +/- of both.
Thanks for the tip john of getting them take off finding nemo when I go look at them.
