I was invited up to the the Vxl Heritage Centre at Griffin House in Luton one evening to have a look over it (& take some pics).

The GTC was brought over for an upcoming viewing and meeting with GM/VXL management (deciding on options, colours etc)

Speculation here in Europe is that the Calibra will be back soon, based on the 2008 Opel show car that previewed the new Insignia. Great hero cars for Opel in Australia.

I recently spent a week with a new Astra 1.7 CDTi 6 spd manual, driving around Ireland, on a mix of N routes and real backwater boreens. Such a fine car. Comfortable, compliant ride, communicative steering and the best manual shift I've ever come across in an Opel based car. Slick, light and well sprung across all gates. The engine was a gem, if a little gruff when working through the lower gears. Very quiet when cruising.

When this new generation of Opels (including the newly facelifted Corsa) arrives in Australia, I'll be front and centre in the queue.......but which one to buy?
When and if and we can only hope Opels ever arrive in Australia again, there'll be plenty of us queing up Click here to enlarge

And again we hear talk of a new Calibra, yes please !!!
