Yeah was in JB yesterday and was surprised to see they're taking preorders... But as with others, I'm skeptical about the October release. It's been delayed so long already, no doubt will only be delayed further.
eb games has been taking preorders for ages. i should know. i work there. im hounding upper management to sort someting out as we dont have any marketing for it yet jb 2 doors down does. not good for our sales!!! we have a price $119.95 but yea after e3 we should all know for certain

slightly off topic,,,
i went to look at one of the sony 3d tvs our local hn were advertising on the radio...
turns out they are only showing samsung atm cos sonys are so pricey.
i had a quick go of the 3d glasses, and i must say i am not impressed too much.
sure it looks 3d, its no longer a flat picture, but the 3d seems to be layered.
they had a music video show on and a band was playing, the band members were in 3d, but the background (speakers/amps etc were all still 2d)
what i seen was about 4 or 5 layers.
it was like looking at one of them old cardboard cut out scenes your sister had when they were younger, you know, cut the dolls out, fold the bottom and stick them to the base of the scenery.
as for gt 3d, i like the sound of it,,,, but lets hope the whole picture is 3d, not just the cars and fences.
ASTRAY - that's not the tv's fault.
It's the fault of the producer thinking they can cost cut by shooting with a single lens and "adding 3d" in post production. Alice in Wonderland had the same thing - poor popup book style 3d, at least compared to Avatar which was shot with stereoscopic cameras. Rereleases, ie Titanic 3d will have the exact same problems.
Live TV/sports will be shot with stereoscopic cameras, they'll look good.
Oh games too - they just render the scene from two points. But tbh, I doubt the PS3 will produce a high enough framerate to pull it off - it effectively halfs the framerate.
