IMHO having been there done that, I'd seriously consider/take on option 4
Your still young Steve with plenty of years ahead of you to enjoy your car interests, considering cars just keep getting better, get some serious equity behind you first and then go for it in the future

Well having only bought my car about 4-5 months ago I have plenty of mods planned for this year.
1. Eibach springs and Whiteline swaybar (have both need fitting)
2. New wheels and tyres (this week)
3. Smooth car of badges and wing
4. CAI and FMIC
5. Exhaust
6. Re-map
Then depending on how impressed I am by the Astra I will decide on whether I want to or need to go any further.
Although I would really like a LSD because on the tighter roads where I live even with the standard power it could do with one.
