Test driving a new diesel?

I'm looking at a new car, but to get rid of my SRi now, i'd have to be bloody impressed. lol. That said, I want to run a test drive of the diesel astra - ONLY in manual. I couldn't be less interested in an auto. Is there any dealers in sydney doing half/full day test drives? I've got no problem with leaving my car at the dealers obviously, and i turn 25 in a month, so insurance shouldn't be an issue. Anyone know any? I want to take the car on a decent trip to get a feel for it, because i've quite often gone long distances in my SRi quite comfortably.
