    commonbore :P

I have little doubt there are many very good reasons for not having commonbore...

because there are sooo damn many of the pieces of junk who think they are the shit because they have engines 200-300% larger than us and can put out an extra 10% power...

They are just soo damn common and plain and boring... I mean there would be more members in a commonbore club on the northern beaches than all the other opel members around australia...

So if you wanna be swamped by people wondering how they can make their VK go faster be my guest, but to be perfectly honest i wouldnt bother coming back on here if there were gonna be 20 commonbores to every 1 car that actually came from germany.

So yeah, i believe i will have a cry  but this forum has something special and it would be a shame to see that ruined...

Because Commodores are so far removed from their Opel origins that they really can't be considered Opels anymore. They're much bigger, look very different, and have completely different engines to anything Opel offers. If we are to include Commodores then we must include Geminis and Camiras too as they are closer to the Opel originals than the Commodore is. Oh, and the Daewoo 1.5i, as that is an Opel too, as you'd all know.

Besides, there are plenty of places for Commodore owners to congregate as it is. They don't need this forum - but euro Holden owners do.

(And for what it's worth, I actually do like Commodores, but only when they have eight cylinders out the front...)
    Currently: no Opels

I know I'm gonna cop sh#t for this...

I once swore that I would never buy a Japanese 4 cyl s_itbox. And I bought a Corolla. Bloody nice little car...!! I really enjoyed driving it.

When the 'go-ahead' to trade-in came through (thanks Darling..!!!) I looked at a few different cars. One was a Commodore V8. If I had more dollars to play with, say another $10k, I would not be here on this forum. That Commodore would be in the driveway.

But, I bought to my budget. And I have to say that I do not regret it. Mind you I copped a fair bit from my better half !!!

    Sorta like...
" You could buy 2 cars for the price of that..!!!" (That was hard to counter..!!)
" You just want a TURBO..!!" (Err.... YES...!!!)
" Buy what YOU like. Don't ask ME. It's YOUR car." (Ahh... Again, a hard one.)

    It's hard being a male-being..!!!

Anyway, let's not turn this into a slag-fest. No need. We enjoy our choice in cars, and the friendships created through forums like this.

Whats the site for the Commodore club? Whatever it is, go there and stay there. This site is for OPELS, not Holden Commodores.
