Check your camshaft position sensor. Sometimes when this fails, it manifests itself as a crank sensor error. Also, the cam sensor's wiring on these engines has a tendency to go brittle and flake off, causing sensor failure.
Hi I've just rebuilt my daughters 2003 1.8 Astra and now it revs fine to 2500 rpm then drops back to 1000 to 1400 and has no throttle response. I replaced the crank angle sensor as that what the scan tool said was the issue now it revs past 2500 but very slowly plugged the scan tool back in and it still comes up with crank angle sensor malfunction. Any ideas on what it could be?
Cheers in advance.
