ran some calculations on how the AMR500 supercharger would fair up on the Z14XE

Supercharger: AMR500 (Small i know but hear me out)
    Dimensions: 170mm Long x 180mm wide x 130mm tall
    Displacement: 500cc per revolution.
    Safe working limit: 16000rpm

    1.4L x 6500( Assumed redline) = 9100/2 = 4550 liters per min
    5(psi)+14.7(psi at atmo) = 19.7/14.7 = a boost ratio of 1.340 br

    Air requirement at Boost
    4550(lpm)x1.340(br) = 6097 Liters per min at 5psi at 6500rpm

    Charger rpm required
    6097/0.5(charger displacement) = 12194rpm (safe working limit for the AMR500 is 16000rpm)
    Pully ratio required
    12194/6500(redline) = 1.876:1

Unsure of the Drive belt pully size on the Z14XE But can always work that out later

HP increase figures are as such:
1.4x8hp = 11.2hp (rough power increase per 1psi of boost)
    11.2hp x 5psi = 56 hp
90hp (factory) + 56 = 146hp at the flywheel (not accounting for HP loss to drive the supercharger)
146x0.745= 108kw at the flywheel (not accounting for kw loss to drive the supercharger)
torque would equal 161nm at the flywheel @6500rpm, Substantially more lower down in the rev range(not accounting for HP loss to drive the supercharger)
    = 42kw/51nm gain at 5psi

Pop in some z18xe injectors which will hopefully fit, Tune the ECU, Pop an exhaust on and have some fun Click here to enlarge

Unsure what the strength of the auto box is though. that would be the real question if it could keep up with the power.
Two things, the auto box is an AF13 in this model. I would guess this is an equivalent to the F13 manual box. I know the F13 is capable of handling a stock Z18. Astra I think uses the AF17, which could possibly be a direct fit into the Corsa.

Other thing is, the Z14XE uses the Delphi HSFI 2.1 ECU, yet another different ECU in the Corsa C.

Ah, that puts mine out then as the engine's over 100,000ks now Click here to enlarge

Still, could be good if you want to daily it around for a bit then mash it and the Corsa together!

Im a bit late back in to this one, but on the topic of Mazda3. I am not sure what you're all saying about slow. Yes they arent a blistering turbo V8 putting out 67 billion killerwasps of power, but they are definitely punchier than the corsa.

Then again, I am referring to the SP23 models, not the 2.0L models (which I cant vouch for)
Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

Only thing is finding a decent sp23 model. They require premium fuel however most were bought by rather aged people who believe e10 is gods gift to motorists.

If theres one in good nic then it will be a beautiful reliable and zippy car, but it will come with a price tag.

Oh and the sp23 is 3 car lengths slower than a corsa c sri Click here to enlarge that i can tell you from experiance.
