    Person saves up $39,990

    Goes in to dealership

"oh sir, you have to add on dealer delivery costs, and stamp duty, and any other taxes, oh yes, you also need to register the car for 12 months, that will be $49,990 thanks"

People see a car and assume oh my god thats cheap, when it really isnt.

Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

News sites can only say the RRP of the vehicle. Anyone wanting a drive away price can get that on the manufacturers site as they can only advertise drive away pricing.

Correct. You and I know that. It's frustrating that those are the rules. Understandably it varies from state to state but its still annoying when you see so many people take the RRP as gospel when they see it on a news site
