The V6 Vectra always surprises people on the highway. It can have a drinking problem in the city but with cruise set at the usual 105 anywhere between 6.7-7.1 is normal provided there's no headwind or I'm not towing. A trailer soon upsets things

One of my great disappointments in my Astra J, which is otherwise excellent, is the fuel economy.

Consumption figures((Lx100)/km): 8.3 by the maths, 8.0 by the dash.

    * For those wondering, my commute does involve a fair amount of motorway driving, hence the average speed.

Model: 2014 Ford Transit Custom VN 290S
Engine: 2.2 turbo diesel (same as Ford Ranger ute)
    Transmission: 6sp Manual
    Driving Style: Running in
Driving Type: Mostly city and some highway
    Fuel Type: Diesel
Consumption figures((Lx100)/km): 8.2 (according to trip computer)

Travelled 550km so far in this thing, used just shy of half a tank of diesel. 8.2L/100km certainly kicks the sh!t out of the iLoad's economy. I worked out that based on worst case scenario being 9.0L in the Transit, I'd use about 25-30 litres less per week than I would have used with the iLoad. Based on current pricing of around $1.59/L, that's a saving of around $39.75 to $47.70 per week.

But it will be interesting to see if this figure changes once the engine has settled itself in.
