Got this reading from Coff's to Ipswich. Consumption quickly went up as I drove through Inala. I always reset trip when filling to full. So 425km's in just under half a 50lt tank!

Not bad! Even my partners 2010 WS Fiesta only gets 8-9L/100k with me driving.

After 4 years, 205k km, 3 blown engines, 3 turbos and 2 clutches, all I can say is the iLoad is the biggest piece of shit to ever get ADR certification. Sure, it might have been nice to drive and had plenty of guts, but they're far from being reliable and Hyundai's "award-winning" customer service, should be investigated by the ACCC for misleading customers, as there is none. I've been driving vans for the best part of the last 15 years and I've never seen anything like this with any van I've owned or driven.

Sorry to carry on off-topic, but to think people think the iLoad is a good van, really need to listen to horror stories such as mine. And yes, I'm far from alone on this.

Going back on topic though, from what I've heard from other new Transit Custom owners, fuel economy figures are about right on the money. As for the SRi, I believe the cat may be blocking up, so I may need to do something about it.

That is a crapy car! I guess I was lucky that the work can only had 80k on it, and was Petrol, although, the clutch was long gone by the time it reached 80k, WTH is with that Hyandai?! I only did Cash In Transit for a short while, and was contracted, so gave it to the van, probably adding to its demise, which going by your post will be very soon!

    BOT:
Are Turbo's meant to get better fuel consumption than NA's?
I will be keen to see what Elliot_O's consumption is, as we have almost the same cars, and while I give my car a good flogging sometimes, I am far from Brocky, so will try to decrease my consumption further with this tank, no promises though!

Depends on the tune, fuel used, heavy right foot, all those things go into the fuel consumption.
For example, my astra when I picked her up had an average on 10.6l/100kms, and average speed was 34km/h... now its 10.5l/100 and the average speed stands at 46km/h.
Mind you, watching the fuel usage go to 45L/100km when she is on song scares the crap out of me...

I used to have a BA Mk2 XR6T that produced around 280kW at the wheels and watching the instantaneous fuel consumption was interesting. Hit it on song at 13psi and the readout displayed 99.9L/100km. At the rate that car burnt fuel, it wouldn't have been far from the truth.

Double the size, double the fuel usage... makes sense... Click here to enlarge

Strangely enough I have friends with 450kw-660kw xr6ts and they get amazing fuel consumption with e85.
