Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
May be only speculation but I've experienced this very close up. People put into an induced coma is done to further reduce or minimize damage. This is normally done short term and if its only swelling of the brain, it normally eases pretty quick. Long term coma doesnt normally end that well. Ldets hope in this case it does but in all honesty, it doesnt look good.

I don't know how but I was sure I read something about it being speculation as opposed to fact in that article. Maybe I should be heading off to sleep after only being awake for 20+ hours.
Still, the signs are good so far. Just hope there wasn't too much damage done, but I guess as they say, only time will tell.
