Don't think you'll get more noticeable performance out of the car mate by changing your exhaust. Any changes and you'll get more noise but not the performance you would be after. Is it the 1.6T engine ? If so, get a remap (ie. stage 1 eds)
Anyone got any suggestions? Don't want noise just performance of a free flowing exhaust.

Free flowing generally = more noise although some of the big brand aftermarket systems are pretty good at getting close. I had a system on my GTI that was as quiet as stock when cruising and then got louder when you booted it... but those systems are $$ and not sure Astra has the market to have big companies developing them here?
Just get a remap from eds. Way better value for money.
