Billy here from the northern suburbs. Few months ago I bought myself a 2003 Astra CDX 5 Speed. Pretty good condition, just a few scratches on the paint. Nothing a bit of my paint prep, polish and waxes didnt fix.
Not sure about it really. Don't get me wrong, I do like the interior, the smooth 5 speed and the economy, drive but coming from a VZ Calais & VS V8 Sedan I suppose it is a bit of a drop in "grunt" and it feels a little (dare I say it)....girly. Not sure what can be done to make these a little faster but I am sure there will be plenty of advice on here. Dont want drastic power gains, just some more than the stock motor.

Best gains you can get will be improved handling and brakes. Trust me when I say its more fun going around a corner at speed (legally of course) than it is going in a straight line.
