Look on the bright side. When I was working in NZ I was paying NZ$2.19 a litre for 91ron. The premium95 was NZ$2.49.
I nearly cried at that. And I wasn't even paying for it!
I agree mate. It's a joke back home (especially with insurance!), it was one of the first things I noticed when arrive in oz. Pretty random/good that fuel prices here can fluctuate depending on what day you fill up tooOriginally Posted by The Brothers Grin

Don't worry. Our government taxes the crap out of our fuel as well. Around 50% of the price is tax, after the Australian gov & then state gov gets their share.
Paid $1.50 today for BP Ultimate.

Taxes in Oz aren't nearly as bad as in a lot of other European countries. The gst is 21% in some whereas here it's only 10% Last time I was in Holland for instance, 98 was costing Euro 1.88 a litre (thats roughly AU$ 2.23 !!!)Say what, I think you'll find we are almost at the top of the tree in Australia with regards to getting rapped with taxes LOL
