I use the maps/gps on my nokia n8. works really well and the loud speaker is loud enough and the lady that talks is really clear. free map updates (so far), reads street names and says where fixed speed cameras/safety cameras etc are. also will occasionly show where road works are and traffic is. although for the bigger gps ive always preffered tom tom for some reason. mainly cause theyre the only ones ive ever seen being used or used my self

Thought you would say TomTom is best, seeing as you're Dutch.
I've had my Tomtom since 2007, it's been perfect so far.

Navman are the biggest load of rubbish, I made the mistake of buying two, I use a Garmin now, and it is great. If you have a iphone navfree is a really good satnav also, best of all, it's free.

Haha, yeah, you're right and I do want to say TomTom (just because of all the free voices you can get) but I don't want to have a fight with the family (and lose my perks for free and discounted Navmans !). Prices have come down so much that it doesn't really matter that much anymore. Most use the same maps anyway.

I've got 2 Garmins I use in my cars which don't have factory sat navs, one is the 3790T and it's brilliant overall especially the nice graphic displays and the optional bluetooth performance and ecu monitoring info displays Click here to enlarge

I previously had an early generation Navman and it was totally useless...but that's probably the case of early units.

Just as a reference comparison to a couple of factory sat navs I've had so far, (Mazda SP25 and MB C Class) even the current aftermarket ones like the 2 Garmins I've got are not as accurate as the factory units, even out in the middle of no where I was astonished at the pinpoint accuracy of the Mazda sat nav and the signal never dropped out or ever failed to acquire, the sat nav in the Merc is simply brilliant in all respects, not the same can be said for the aftermarket units...

Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
