I don't think 21psi is going to be an issue for the engine/turbo for the vast majority of owners. But I doubt the turbo is designed to last more than 200k anyway...

The real test is when people start modding them to get even more power out of them and winding up the boost even more..

That was Rory making the sound. Kylie can confirm he does it while he sleeps also.
I'm just going from what I heard once that daily drivers prob shouldn't be running more than 15psi. But sounds like opel have really strengthened the motor so 21psi will be ok day in day out.

There are some specs including increased cooling jackets and new exhaust valves on wiki. Search for the lnf motor as that's what it's based on, I think lol

Here's hoping they bring the OPC variants to Oz? That's exactly the motor Holden should have put in the Cruze (or the V6 from the Insignia).

In the states they're getting huge power out of the cobalts with the LNF motors few mods and turbo upgrade in the very low 12 seconds down the 1/4 mile. The OPC will be a quick car.

sub 6 sec 0-100 is properly quick.
400nm is a good mark to make, the EVO is making that sort of torque, same with the JDM STI.

Direct injection helps with the high boost levels as it cools the combustion chamber better than port injection

There's some serious power coming out of small motors from standard these days. The new Subaru legacy gt will come with a 2.0 direct injected turbo with 225kw and 400nm as well.
Wonder what the next wrx STi will have given that's the case

Little bit off topic. But did anyone else see Opels small announcement on facebook? Three images were attached. I imagine it's going to be the Bi-Turbo diesel for the insignia. Enhanced Turbo for the OPC?
