    1) A SSS Pulsar and S14 (so with the SR20DE and SR20DET) - The SR20 is a good base engine but rocker arms, oiling and lifters are the weak points. They do tune up nicely & the best incarnation is the SR20VE.
    2) An R34 GTR - The RB26DETT is an awesome engine once you tune it back up, as stock they are a massively under powered. Oiling (it gets pumped up to the head and stays there, starving the engine), oil pumps (pump gears shatter) early R32 blocks (water galleries crackign at high boost) and ceramic turbos (wheels cracked off) were problems. But once you sort one out, at 10,000+rpm's, they sound as close to an F1 car as you can get!!!
    and
    3) An R35 GTR - The VR38DETT is simply amazing!!! Torque, rev's and power with ease!! Bores are proving as little fragile at stupid boost, but otherwise they seem to be fairly bullet proof!!
Did the Sigma come come with Special Peter Wherrett High Heeled Drivers shoes and matching handbag ? !

You may have as well got the basic model Astra, there's not much of the SRiT that hasn't been upgraded! haha

Good work Gman!! I would love a R35 and could prob afford a secondhand one, but the running cost scare the crap out of me.

For the R35 there are just two big costs..

    1: Tyres
2: Gearbox (fluid and 1st gear)..

Fuel comes in a distant 3rd Click here to enlarge

You mean you can get even more power out of an engine with turbos? haha.... In this day and age, unless the engine is a minimum of 4,000cc, forced induction all the way.
I think the idea was that if it was as good as an sr20det why not make it even better...

    yep, sr20ve's + turbo = ridiculous power.
Have seen 500whp in the states from a stock internalled engine (bad n1 cams), ridiculous!

As Gman mentioned, the VE fixed all the problems that all the other SR motors had, i'll build another someday
