The pint-sized SUV is based on the same underpinnings as the Holden Barina as car brands look to cash in on the continued appetite for both small cars and SUVs.
But Holden will get in on the act as well with its US equivalent Chevrolet expected to debut its own version of the Barina-based soft-roader (featuring unique styling and built in South Korea) in the near future.
Expect the Holden to start around $25,000 with the Opel version demanding a premium when they arrive here in 2013.
