    QLD's first P2P cameras

Well the Bruce Highway is the first to get revenue raisers point-to-point cameras in QLD.

Please stand back while I try to hold in my excitement for these

Queensland's first point-to-point speed cameras will be operating on the Bruce Highway on the state's Sunshine Coast tomorrow.

Two cameras on the highway between Beerburrum and Landsborough will average the speed taken to travel 14 kilometres.

Police Minister Neil Roberts says that stretch of the Bruce Highway is known for serious car crashes.

"Motorists who believe they can speed on this section of road will have three chances of getting a ticket," he said.

"It will be either at the beginning or the end or indeed the average speed travelled over that distance."

He says the system has been trialled and is ready to roll out.

"We need to be sure that they are going to be 100 per cent accurate in terms of the technology so they can stand up in court," he said.

It wasn't a camera problem as such. It was the time sync server not syncing correctly. Their software has been upgraded and the issue has been fixed.

no doubt A Current Affair will do a story on them in 6 months, pointing out all the people who where wrongly fined

but neglecting to say that the problem has been long fixed

    still revenue raising imo

No doubt, that's all they do. Dont speed and they don't raise revenue. If they don't fine people in the name of "road safety", the cost to maintain them becomes an expensive exercise and they will remove them

Isn't this the way speed "cameras" used to work before our current modern cameras? How quick someone gets from point A to B and work out their speed from that.

They've been up for a long time, last few weeks they also fitted a camera to the on ramp next to the highway at the mobil (johnston road) so people don't bypass it
