Thanks Dave for running your own FTP service.

It appears that Google Calendar Sync was only in Beta mode and now unsupported. I think they will continue to let new accounts be set up until the end of the year.

I wonder why they never released it officially.

I migrated over to Google calendar when I got my first android phone, but then again I don't have secretaries and staff organising my day for me :-p (BTW Google calendar allows you to do that anyway)

I can't see the phone as a media device, only a camera (via USB)

The phone says it's connected as a media device, but 2 PCs can't 'install the drivers'? WTF?

Anybody have a WIFI file manager they can recommend?

You still running Win98SE? Never had an issue on my 7, 8 and 8.1 PCs. Even the work XP is happy with my N5

John, jump into the phone settings and turn off USB Debugging Mode and see if that helps.


Now I have stumbled into a huge dilemma.

Do I

a) pay the $310 to get my Galaxy S4 Screen repaired and use that.
b) buy a nexus 5 32gb for $449
c) Fix S4, sell it and buy a Nexus 5 (profit $$)

Sell the S4 for parts and get a N5. I have seen many unsuccessful screen transplants...

The USB Debugging Mode is off by default.

It appears I'm not the only one having issues based on the comments online.

I had to uninstall the Nexus 5 in device manager, and then install the LG Driver before the PC can recognise the N5.

What happened to your phone Peter?

Nexus 5 is $469 once you factor in shipping.

I'm not sure about your S5, but battery life on the N5 is terrible.
