Kind of been tinkering with the S4 a bit lately. Decided I'd ditch the stock rom and go for a custom rom, only to find a million that I'd say I couldn't trust. Ended up installing the Google Edition ROM (4.3) and it's just awesome on this phone. No more of that annoying TouchWiz crap that Samsung forces down your throat. Benchmarks are higher and battery lasts a little bit longer too. With that latter bit, I found your battery turns to shit when you have "Send your location data to Google, so they can spy on you" enabled. Add to that, I have TWRP recovery installed, which is far better than the CWM recovery menu that I was used to on the old SGS2.

Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

After having my HTC Incredible S for over 2 years, I have just ordered my S4. I'm getting mine from Kogan for $580.
I recently got the missus a Note 2 from there as well and its such a good phone. No issues with Kogan either except for saving money.
I found it hard to choose between the larger screen size and S Pen of the Note to the lil extra power that the S4 has. You get a bit greedy when you sit them side by side and think the 5" screen on the S4 is "small". But the performance aspect got the better of me and I went with it. I think I might just root mine and use Nova Launcher rather than flash it with an entirely different ROM and TBH I only want root access to use the PS3 controller wirelessly as I do now with my Cyangenmod7 rooted HTC. Its a shame the home/back/options/search buttons have played up on the htc because it was surprisingly a good phone for quite some time. Only really starting to show its age and [lack of] performance now compared to newer phones.
Got a note 3 today. The power of this thing is ridiculous. Build quality is a thousand times better than my old GS 2, though not quite as good as my HTC one
