what is "rooting"?
maybe its something you should talk to your parents about
or
essentially it allows access to the 'root' directory of your phone/tablet
so you can change boot logos, animations, overclock cpu etc

you'd be surprised
on XDA people put up custom roms, they strip out all the shit and leave the essential bits in
then you can add onto them from there. have seen some massive speed gains on devices by doing this.

Rooting makes the phone run quite a bit faster in most cases...and saves battery life
developers tweak a few things to make it run smoother although having rooted my phone dozens of times with all sorts of different mods im now back with the Optus stock Kernal because of all of them its the least buggy !Rooting makes the phone run quite a bit faster in most cases...and saves battery life
does anyone else's device take ages to install from the Android Marketplace?
It's takes a good 10 minutes to install a basic app for me.

installed a small app today, took about 2mins
Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
