Scalloping and wear on rear tyres ZC Vectra

Howdy, I've searched through the posts and found references to abnormal rear tyre wear on ZC Vectras. My rear tyres are scalloped (worn flat) on the inside for distances of about 50mm with the next 100mm not bad and then back to scalloped. This is my second ZC and the previous car would wear the inside rears like it was an alignment issue but the wear was the same all the way around the tyre.
Is this scalloping due to a shock absorber issue or something else? The car has done 110ks but I would not say I have had any sign of worn rear shocks in the ride and handling and to bounce the car it seems firm.
Can anyone tell me if the rear tyre issues can be fixed and how, and if there is a suspension shop in South East Queensland that has any knowledge with this issue on Vectras.
My local Holden dealer seems to have no answers.

I thought the wear pattern described (worn on the outsides, OK in the middle) was a symptom of underinflation?

It is but that isn't our problem. Our tyres wear unevenly on the inside only. It starts as what's also known as feathering then gets worse and becomes scolloped over time

Adam's correct here. The scolloping is often referred to as feathering however it goes a little further and each tread block eventually becomes flat spotted. This is what causes the tyre noise associated with Veccy C's. It only occurs with the rear tyres and is also common on some Vw's and Audi's.

there are theory's out there that it can be fixed by specialist wheel alignment, toe in, or suspension upgrades however there are only 2 ways to resolve it. the first is to load 3 bags of cement in the boot (not bloody likely) or 2, rotate the tyres every 5000kms.

I have the issue but my tyres still get me 40 to 50K by rotating them and getting a wheel alignment every 10 to 15K

You get to live with the tyre noise

Yeah I rotate and balance every 5000kms. I do it while the oil is draining when I'm doing a service. Iv fitted an Eibach pro kit to the vectra and the wheels don't seem to have as much camber as they did before when you look from the rear or the car. Il see if it makes any difference in a few kms and let you know.
