Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

    Melbourne International Motor Show

    A.I.M.S is back !!!

    Well almost...

After 3 years of lul from the GFC most manufacturers have their machinery back on track, the dissapointment (for me anyway) was the almost no show for BMW - BOO Click here to enlarge I say almost because all they had was that concept that's been around for a wile now, what a waste, I was really looking forward to seeing the new 1M in the flesh and any other sampling of the new 1 series which from pics looks the goods...

All the other manufactures had plenty to show...

Highlights for me were both the C and SLK class Mercs, both were alot better in the metal and up close and with what they offer than I ever expected - absolutely love the new C class coupe - WOW... the SLK looks alot better in real life than pics too...

Also surprised by the new Volvo S60 also WOW more than I expected...

Hyundai are flooding the market ATM with lots of new hardware, one surprise was the new i45 wagon, totally impressed with the interior...

Speaking of interiors, the new Focus has an unuasually similar interior to your typical Hyundai...

One car I finally laid eyes on in the flesh - the Scirocco actually gave me exactly the same impression I already had from pics, ie. magnificent looking front, but the arse end needs to improve...

I'll stop babbling on and post up some pics, I took the better part of a couple hundred, but will post hopefully the more interesting ones for peeps who won't be at the show...
