    What car to buy

Tried finding the other thread i had going but i'll start from scratch anyways.

We are getting closer to purchasing a new car and have narrowed it down to a few cars and wanted to get some feedback from you guys on which is a good purchase and which is not.

The car has to be auto and i would like it to be diesel with leather seats and we have a budget of up to 30k.

    Here are the contenders

    Hyundai i30 SLX CRDi
    Holden Cruise CDX
    Ford Focus TDCi
    Peugeot 308 XSE HDi

have never driven any of these

but hers my opinion, for what it's worth.

i would look at the i30, know a few people with them, diesel's in particular and they love them
cheap to run, comfy, decent ride, have a semi decent stereo

thats about all i have to offer Click here to enlarge

parts/servicing for the i30/focus would most likely be cheaper and easier to get hold of too

Have never driven any of the other cars. I think the Pug has got the most features of all the ones you mentioned. From experience, I do know that the Pug does drive great, good seats and servicing is every 20.000 k's. Small disadvantage of the Pug is getting hold of parts after a serious accident. Otherwise great car to drive.

Either the i30 or Cruze. my grandparents have a 2010 i30 in diesel and auto and they love it, good ride, enough power for them and excellent fuel Eco. A friend of mine at work has a diesel auto cruze and she loves it, nice interior to look at, good size medium car and nice smooth power plus fairly good fuel Eco not as good as the i30 tho.

You really cant go wrong with any of those cars but if I were to pick one, it would probably be the Focus as its probably dynamically better than the others (not having driven it, just going on what I read from reviews)

have you test driven all of them Gav?
