    VXR hands down
Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.

This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....

    ok heres my opinion

    VXR vs. Cooper S

The VXR is much nicer looking, has more power, is quicker, is bigger, is more reliable, easier to modify, cheaper to service and in general just cheaper to buy.

Also fro only my experiences driving both (haven't spent as much time in VXRs as i have the Coopers), the Cooper S suffers worse from torque steer than the VXR, almost to the point where you can just change gear to change lanes!!

If you're set on the two, buy the VXR and with the thousands you've saved on the Mini, buy some performance mods, or invest it in something worthwhile!!

Or there are many other cars in that price range to choose from!!

If it must be out of those 2, then go for whichever you prefer most...

However with that budget, you are open to so many other choices, alot of them being a new car instead of S/H...

    + 1

As stated not only the Megane, but with a little more $$ there are plenty other new car choices...
