Have driven the current 224kw SLK 350 soon after they were released last year and thought it was great...the 7spd auto worked well too unlike the previous SLK 350's auto trans which wasn't very good at all (my cousins work partner has one and I 'borrowed' it for over a week once), power delivery is good and the V6's roar is awesome, cost of one is way over the top though, I got it priced with full options list and 'Designio package' included at 143k drive away Click here to enlarge no thanks...

probably, but everyone's doing it - look at the AH vs the TS Astra badging, look at Holden with the Commodore. The R36 has a MASSIVE VW badge on the front grill and rear tailgate....

Or manufacturers are just really trying to stick it in consumers faces to make them fully aware of branding/marketing of their product Click here to enlarge

At least there are some brands which do offer you the choice of 'factory debadging' when buying your car Click here to enlarge

When we got the CR-V there was an option to bling it up with gold coloured badges. Was a few hundred dollars IIRC - since then have seen plenty of Honda's with the gold badges - could have used that money for something a lot more usefull....
