The 3gs has a battery designed to always be connected like in a dock, charger etc. It's life is limited to around about 400 full charges. Then it'll start dying

Based on my knowledge of the lithium polymer batteries they use in the iPhone, I could not disagree more. Constant charging kills the battery as it collapses the copper oxide layers reducing interstices for lithium placement.

ahhh i was expecting your scientific opinion, haha

but will they initially last Ain ? well like 400 charges as Neeko says ?

I really need something with some decent battery life and dont want to replace it every 3-6 Months.

Lithium copper oxide/nafion batteries are pretty much at the forefront of commercial batteries atm. But as with all lithium based battery, cycling will reduce their capacity. I wouldn't imagine it would be as low as 400, but it all depends on the tolerances applied to them by apple. What sort of thresholds they put on the charging and discharging sequences.
