GT 5 Fans and 3D!

i bought the tigra last night.

gonna build a car collection up to 17 so far. only bought about 3.

also saw the lotus carlton, didnt have enough money to buy it

and by the time i did it was gone

im now using a 600+hp rx7 series 6 or a ft-86

had a crack at GT5 last night (cheers Ice) not too bad, couple of new bits!!

love the handling compared to GT4

still no comparision to Forza 3, which is a couple of years old...

the supposed damage is still very poor.

i hit a wall at about 260km/hr, the front bar and guard where bent a little.

so there is damage?? didn't notice any damage apart from tyre wear....

also the thud when you hit something is odd, it turns down all the other sound effects so the thud is very clear (and annoying)

as said in the spam thread, im not happy about the 800 models just copied over from gt4...

but its still an ok game...

What I don't get is how come gt2 had 2000+ cars and they couldn't port them across... Sure physics engine would be diff but how hard could be to tweak them..

Also not fan of used car setup...

Picked up a copy today.

Gotta say... not terribly impressed on first play.

Can't see why it took 6 years to complete, seeing half the game (tracks/cars) seems to have been ported over from PS2. Based on the standard definition graphics/lack of new features, there were times I thought I was playing GT4!

Got the basic B licence, bought a 91 Civic, then a Gold GTI - boring. Also disappointed that there were no Opel/Vauxhall dealerships!

It wasn't until I played the Top Gear Combi challenge that the game seemed to finally come alive - frustrating but good fun.

On the plus side, I like how you can tune your car from the garage.

I'll keep playing to convince myself it was $77 well spent!
