    Taken from EXE

    ---

    Cheers for the support guys, looking to reshell the super S into something a little more common (read: cheap) to make a Super LX or Super SL/X.

    I will miss the sunroof, but everything else can come with me or go to a good home Click here to enlarge

    Once I get the pics of the car from my brother I'll chuck em up here.

    pretty much how I can see the incident going in my head;
    1. came in 10k to hot into the final chicane,
    2. Made it through, just, but the back end came out to the left (clockwise);
    3. Counter steered the slide and notice a running SP-BLING from where he was standing at the final timing point (noting there was a car further down from here, mind says no go that way),
    4. Car reverse swings the counter clockwise and I make the decision to accept the slide rather than fighting the tank slapper, remained on the brakes let the car continue this reverse swing, hang onto steering wheel for support.
    5. Car slides a bit before rolling over on tires (high profile + High CG + soft springs means this is more likely, grrr)
    6. Close my eyes at this point waiting for windows to smash as car rotates over towards the ground.
    7. We have Impact, eyes still closed, doesn't sound that bad ....
    8. Eyes open as car gently rolls onto roof, stupid me goes ohh noes the windscreen glass is going to hit me, puts bare hands on smashed windscreen = glass shards = bloody hands = silly me Click here to enlarge
    9. Remove hands, clutch in, can hear engine still popping away, turn it off, first person arrives, I'm okay I'm saying (surprised at how well a 3 point seat belt holds you upside down, thank you Volvo)
    10. Passenger door opens, drivers door open 1 sec later, I use that as my cue to drop out of seat; graceful it was not.
    11. Exit vehicle I do the quick hands check, no shaking, heart rate, super calm, ummmmm, maybe there's a problem here Click here to enlarge
    12. Get checked out by Dan (ozmazda organiser) then stroll over to car and tell peeps to get it right side up
    13. No windows smash as it's righted (surprising, or due to the soft suspension there's very little shock transmitted through the car) with only the broken front windscreen to really show the damage.
    14. Push the immobiliser button, car beeps as usual, people are looking funny at me as if it's not gonna start, and brm, it's ALIVE!!!!!!
    15. Reverse back nervously making sure no wheel is gonna fall off, drive over the finish line, stop, and then drive back to pits telling myself I'm REALLY happy I did this in this car, rather than my 31 (emotional attachment hasn't really set in for this car yet).

    That's that, packed everything that was in my car elsewhere, and then drove via the back streets to a mates place so we could tuck it away around the back and get it sometime later. Corrigated roads plus smashed windscreen = glass shower, don't do it Click here to enlarge We get there with no real dramas apart from some quite muddy roads which left the rest of the cars dirty (not my 4wd spec micra!!!) and as we leave we pass a divvy van which is obviously looking for something that shouldn't be driving around.

    The drive home was uneventful, started sending out the sms to peeps I know would be upset if I didn't keep em informed, and then posted it on facebook. Dens and I also started discussing what model would best suit V2.0, so we'll see where that takes us.

    Biggest lesson learned, if you don't think you can make the turn, take out the cones, whatever damage they MIGHT do, it will be minimal to what COULD happen. Also gonna try out on Forza (haha) what stepping back on the gas would have done once the back end came out the first time, it should help pull it straight, but we'll see.

    This isn't the end of V1.0, I see an angle grinder in it's near future ....
