I've seen this car on carsales, very nice buy mate. You will fall in love with this car.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone before I start posting in other threads. My name is Ryan, and today my girlfriend Courtney and I put down a deposit on a 2003 SRI Turbo. I look forward to learning as much as possible on here, and doing a few mods.
This is the car, we are picking it up a little later in the week. It is super clean, with not one dint/scratch on the body, 60,000km, and full service history (We are not paying that price). Only mods are aftermarket springs, and a K&N panel filter, the rest is cosmetic stuff (tint, de-badging, and de-spoilered). We are both very excited, and look forward to picking it up.
I have been trying to research as much as possible, and im looking at doing a few reliability mods pretty much straight away. Percys oil restrictor bolt, and breather box looks to be the first things I will do. If anyone could point me in the right direction on where to get these 2 parts from, or recommend any other preventative maintenance mods that would be great.
Other than I am really look forward to contributing to the forum.
Cheers
Ryan

Thanks for the welcome guys, and I will be coming down to the next cruise/meet to learn a few things and meet a few blokes. I am new to this whole Astra thing, so im trying to cram as much info about them as I can. I have been in the MX5 club for the past 5 years, as my current ride is a NA8 Clubman MX5, so im great if you need to know anything about them, but my astra knowledge is lacking. The MX5 is such an awesome yet impractical car, so it spends most of its time in the garage. The Astra will be taking over our daily driver duties.
Here is my MX5, if anyone is interested, the Astra in the background is my mums CD 1.8. She has had it since new.
Sure, we dont have to worry about viking raids or scurvy anymore, but instead we make a daily routine of sitting in flimsy, fibreglass (or metal) boxes full of gasoline which are propelled in opposing directions on the freeway at velocities matching that of low flying aircraft.
This is a roundabout way of saying that cars are dangerous....
