if you guys really miss the old atari games, there are games for ps2 and 3 and psp containing 40+ atari games per disc. i have them all.
also there are sega collections available for the same platforms, eg ps2 and 3 and psp.
XCOM - definitely the hardest game I've ever played. Scared me as a 7yo too.
Chrono Trigger (since rereleased on DS)/ FF7 - best two RPGs ever made. Still replay both from time to time..
There's a lot of short (but enjoyable) arcade games from the past too though. Thinking of Tyrian, Raptor, OMF 2097, hmm..

toughest oldskool game I ever played was Another World , can even download it free for windows now.
Elite, Rambo and Paradroid were awesome fun as well.
Another World was crazy hard. Paradroid was defnitely a Favorite.
