    PS3 help/query

    Hey guys!

Two really quick questions, so i've got an original ps3 with the 60gb HD, and just got a notice the other day saying i only had 500mb left, so i cleared off some crap, and am back up to 8gb. The problem is, i've only got about 20-30gb of music, videos, photos and save data on it. And there's 55gb of space, so where has about 15gb of my space gone? Any ideas would be awesome, thanks!

This leads me to my next question, obviously with playtv coming up i'm going to need a bigger HD anyway, so can anyone recommend a good 250gb, maybe 500gb HD that's suitable for the ps3? I think i read they're 2.5" SATA notebook hard driveor something (clearly don't know too much about computers lol)
And if you read this Ash, i'm probably going to get it from you anyway, so any help is appreciated.
    Thanks guys!

i may be wrong but i think they are specially formatted... So long as it;s formatted properly it should just be drop in... I think it needs to be done under a UNIX system (eg Linux) NOT WINDOWS, apparently the drive gets wiped when Windows puts the swap files in to read from it or something to that effect.

As for the 15GB's NFI... Hidden files maybe???

Cheers, just did some reading, and pretty much any 2.5" sata notebook drive works, as the ps3 just formats the harddrive when you first reboot it.

note sure about the 15gb of 'mystery' space

    possibly install files from games?

and yer, as you;ve said, the ps3 formats the drive once you restart it.
