Ohh how sweet it would it be to blow the doors of my mum and dads SS-V in the VXR then repeat it in a Hyundai.

hyundai make pretty good cars nowadays. they've gone way beyond a budget brand and even started becoming desirable with cars like the i30.

and to think just a few years ago everyone would rubbish korean cars as budget shitboxes that will fall apart and/or kill you. nowadays your average Hyundai is more reliable than many prestige brands (though they might still kill you in a crash but that's getting better too Click here to enlarge)

    Correct...

Correct again - the i30 model is what's done it for Hyundai in the past 12-18 months Click here to enlarge

    Also correct...

Unless Kia can match product, reputation and marketing to Hyundai, they'll never match up to them over here...

I do believe Kia is owned by Hyundia...

I would buy a brand new Hyundia for a daily driver, great warranty and cheap to run why not. Sell it after the 5 years and your laughing

we all agree that hyundai are making good cars now. and that the genesis is going to be awesome...

but i really think they need something to change the name/demographic.
like they tried introducing the different badge with the tiburon, but everbody (that i know) still wrote it of as a hyundai...

maybe some new badge and a HPV name...
could then make a HPV i30 too.

The Difference is Hyundai Australia is owned by the Parent Company in Korea. Kia in Australia is a distributorship. appointed by Kia Motors in Korea. The level of funding isnt as strong hence the marketing Hyundai have before them .

Owned by Hyundai or not, peoples perceptions won't be changed by that...

For for a daily driver that's cheap to buy and run and has the best vehicle warranty going, you can't go past a Mitsubishi !!! (except for the Evo model) if your not fussed, a base Lancer sedan or hatch is perfect for this Click here to enlarge

Hell even if you keep it for 10 years, you'll still have engine and drivetrain warranty on it !!!
