DSi has
- 17% bigger screens
- sd card reader
- camera front and back
- both screens are touch screen
- better for net access, msn, forums etc
havent heard anything about these 'wi-fi updates'

I have a DS lite.
For games, DS lite is good enough. Although the DSi has bigger screen, they have the same game, so the same resolution, what you see on DS lite's screen is actually better.
If you also want Net use, go DSi. On DS lite, you need extra part to surf the internet.

i bought a DSlite about a month ago - one of the limited edition mario ones - i only use it to play games. My sis got a DSi about two months earlier and we both prefer to use mine over hers.
For $178 with super mario and a few other bits n pieces, I'm no even complaining that mine is bright red!!!
