Just using the oz garage vid as reference, an SS sportwagon got 225rwkw from what holden says is 270kw atf. That's about right.

The LS2s aren't as bad as the V6s (find me a 190kW SV6 that gets above 147kW..) and older V8s... it's possible the commie rwd have huge static losses I guess. But that is still something in favour of the fwd mazda 6s and accords mentioned earlier.

could the drivetrain loss be more due to the crappy 4L60/65 tranny's they used in the Commodore - that gearbox was pretty agricultural..

The 3.6L DI is what interests me at 210kw and 350Nm. That's got potential.

We did a test at trade school a year or 2 back, dynoed a couple of new holden and ford performance cars, nearly every single holden made more power than quoted and nearly every ford made less power than quoted....

VE II, looks the bloody same, the engine's are a good thing (stock V6 same power as VT HSV V8) but the car in general still looks outdated and boring!!!

More interested in seeing what HSV does........

I've read these pics are ONE of the designs they were looking at but that it was not the one they went for.

Whether that includes the bonnet scoops or not I'm not sure, I hope they dont - or if they do, there better be a blower underneath!!! Click here to enlarge

Yeah I believe they are variations (notice the difference between the front bars on the silver sedan to the red wagon) to get a bit of hype up before they release it. Possibly not even done by HSV too. However the rear bar on the silver sedan looks like it may well be in the ball park as the photo of the car taken in the street has a very similar rear bar.

Also looks like the LED daytime running lights are a goer too. With the sedan with the car bra, you can see them coming through...
