195kw from a stock 3L is pretty dam good (for gm)
remember in 2000 the VT SS only made 220kw @ 5000rpm, from a 5.7L
this engine, from specs alone has sold me, so much more efficient both fuel and power.

It's way better than the old 3.0ltr of the VL and more than competitive to other modern 3.0ltr IL6 and V6 engines as well...
Yes, the Commodore weighs more than some other modern vehicles with 3.0ltr 6 cylinder powerplants, but I'm sure with the combination of good gearing and good engine technology and ecu management, it'll be just fine...

VL is cool...
such a good shape, and the jap engine is so tuneable/turbable.
i agree that half the people that drive them are borderline retarded,, but thats not the cars fault
Exactly dont hate the car hate the driver and their crazy ideas!

I am of the suspicion that Holden overrate their Commodore engines though, either that or they have some ridiculously inefficient drivetrains. Just from the stock dynos I've seen, you normally need to add around 30% to get back to supposed flywheel power. Kind of surprised their drivetrains don't melt losing all that to heat..
