Yes, you do look a bit limited for choice there.

I don't know if TPG resells their ports through other ISPs.

One thing to consider is that Optus may put more ports in your exchange at some point, opening up other options for you. So you might want to consider "length of contract period" if/when you make a move, and avoid any two-year contracts.

I've also found the 2008 Whirlpool Survey results, to add to the others I linked to above. Useful sample size when finding out what others think of various ISPs.

To be honest, I'm with Bigpond.
Before you all jump on me how much more expensive Bigpond is, the service and the connection is pretty good! I was thinking about switching to TPG but apparently their customer service is aweful, and hold times are dismal, also.. since they merged with Soul has got me worrying as well.

Anyways I pay $59.95 for 25GB ADSL2+, I get a $20 deduction because I've been with them for awhille, and every year I threaten to move and they give me the discount, so I'm happy. :PP

Ps. my email address is with bigpond so it makes it hard also lol.
Prob not very helpful, lol but that's my 2c

Dont forget that if you live more than 4k's from the exchange, don't expect FULL speeds..

    I live within 2k's of my exchange & can D/L 2 torrents at 500kbps each = 1mbps/s pretty much..

+1 for exetel, the sheer amount of D/L's you get is great plus I havent had any issues, I had one issue last year but then it turned out to be the modem i'd bought was faulty. Ive only heard good things from Internode users plus u can use their gaming servers traffic free i believe if youre into that

    I'm using TPG here.

TPG has undoubtedly the worst customer service (contact centre and self-service facilities) compared to other ISPs but they cannot be beaten on price.
