    but if i ever stop owning a astra, ill just hand the plates in. i only got them for the car, i dont fancy driving around and everyone knowing my name and/or age.

    so yeah it was more of a novelty thing.

    Can relate to those points and I too wouldn't display my name or age on reg plates - looks silly...but you could have your initials, on their own or with numbers than mean something to you...Click here to enlarge

    Also depending on which state you live in, fees/costs are not the same, expensive as they are here in Vic. it's a one off payment and they're yours for life, hence my philosophy on the whole 'making them relate to you and not the car thing' in the 1st place - pay for a good set once, use them for life on one only or any car !!!     yeah mate i totally understand your philosophy on plates, id do the same if i was in a state that had decent plate laws.
    but, at $500 a year, ill just keep mine for as long as i have my (or another) astra.
    did want jay 666, but its been taken for years.
